We Are ICE Gen 1
ICE launched its inaugural season with a five-day intensive workshop in Herzliya, Israel (December 18–22, 2022). Dancers trained in Gaga technique, ballet, and contemporary repertory with choreographers Ohad Naharin, Sharon Eyal, and Inbal Pinto.
The faculty included:
Matan David – Gaga technique and Ohad Naharin Repertoire
Keren Lurie Pardes – Sharon Eyal Repertoire
Dina Ziv – Inbal Pinto Repertoire
Florence Faure – Ballet Masterclasses
Bret Easterling – staged “Dancing with the Audience” by Ohad Naharin
For the Gen 1 Tel Aviv Gala (May), Maayan Sheinfeld and Matan David staged Ohad Naharin’s repertoire, while Keren Lurie Pardes and Dirk Korell staged Sharon Eyal’s work.
During the May workshop in Tel Aviv, the faculty also included Shale Wagman, Coryphée with the Paris Opera Ballet; Larissa Saveliev, Founder and Artistic Director of Youth America Grand Prix; and Sharon Eyal herself, who led an exclusive workshop with the dancers.
Following this learning experience, selected dancers were cast in the YAGP Gala Tour, performing across four internationally renowned venues:
April 8, 2023 – Straz Center, Tampa
April 11, 2023 – Lincoln Center, New York City
May 27, 2023 – Israeli Opera House, Tel Aviv
July 3–8, 2023 – Nervi Festival, Italy
This first generation established ICE as a significant platform for youth contemporary performance, melding technical excellence with choreographic expertise.
